Crew's Special Day

Sunday was a very special day for our Crew man. It was his blessing day. We would have his blessing done at our church building and then we would have a lunch after at our house with family.

Kristen was awesome and came over Saturday night to help me hang up the little banners I made and clean. It was fun spending time with her. Emery was really excited and running around saying 'For Cwoo'. I looked at pictures with Emery of her blessing day and told her all about it and how Crew's special day was tomorrow and what would happen. Who knows if she understood any of what I said but she did like the pictures :)

Crew woke up at 6:30AM on Sunday and was so cute. I loved spending some quiet alone time with him and told him all about his special day and gave him a bath, and he was just being such a good babe and so sweet. I sure love this babe. It was actually a good and peaceful morning and we were all able to get ready with no chaos.

We tried to get a family picture before we left for church but the babies were not having it. That was a crazy moment and we gave up and decided once we got home we'd try. Sadly, that never happened :( At least we got some of the babies.

Court gave Crew a beautiful blessing and the spirit was felt very strong. I have to say my favorite moment of the day though was right before the blessing. Crew was getting a tad fussy because he was tired. I was holding him and gave him his bink, which always soothes him and that's when Court leaned over and said, "Give him to me so I can get him comfortable and ready to take up there." I handed him over and Crew looked at Court the whole time he was holding him and just stared and gave his daddy the biggest smiles and little laughs and coos. It was so sweet. I think these babies know more of what's going on than we think. You could pretty much see Court melt when that was happening. He is seriously the best dad.

We had so much fun that day and loved being with all the family!

Now for the star of the day...

C'mon, is he not the cutest!

She got a lot of M&M's for this, don't judge.

2 Months

Crew turned two months on August 17th. Say what?! He is getting so big so fast. He has been such a happy babe and smiling all the time since we got back from California. He also is off his reflux medication as of last Saturday (yay!).  We had his doctors appointment last Friday, and granted that he is more like 2 1/2 months, but he has gained FIVE pounds since his month appointment. At his one month he was only 8lbs. 1 oz. and now he is 13lbs. 8oz. Our little chub chub.

Some things about our Crew at 2 months:
-He can focus much better now and always has smiles for his mommy
-He loves to look around all over still and loves to be held up
-Still likes to be swaddled
-Sleep MUCH better now. Usually goes to bed between 8:30-10 and will wake up once anytime between 3-5AM. (I love the 5AM nights-Heaven!) Every so often we will still have a midnight feeding but not usually
-LOVES baths! and binkys.

We just love our baby. It's so hard to think that he wasn't part of our family just 2 months ago. They always just fit in so perfect don't they? :)

Here are some pictures of our very handsome Crew boo...

The babes look like they are so over this picture taking thing. I love my kiddos!

California

We went to California a few weeks before Labor Day to visit Grammy! It was another plus that Shelby and Josh and their beautiful girls came for a visit too. We had such a fun time with everyone and it was nice to take a little vacation.

This girl always wants to be outside! She loved all the hammocks on the patio.

It is 6AM in this picture. Welcome to a vacation with kids. We love our cuddly babes though.
We went to dinner for our 5th anniversary and had fun spending time together. Can't believe its been 5 years. (Don't worry, Court's head is not that big in real life)
 My boys
We even made it to the beach while we there and had so much fun. The waves were HUGE! Emery loves the beach and was not happy when it was time to leave.

We missed California as soon as we got back home. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get to go visit again!

4th of July

We decided that even though Crew was two and a half weeks at the time a little get away would be nice. So for the 4th we headed up to the Cook family cabin a long with some of the other extended Cook family.

It was a fun time and it was nice to be out of the house.

One Month

Crew turned one month on July 17th. I can believe that in a week he'll be 2 months! Our first month with him was a little rough, but things are getting better and he is getting so big!

Here's our Crew man at 1 month old...

 Em loves him

It's amazing how fast these babes change in their first few months of life. I love watching their little skinny frog legs start filling out with those precious tiny rolls. I love the first smile and that they stay awake more during the day. I look at Em all the time and see her silly and fun personality and it makes me look so forward to seeing how our Crew will be.

So, like I said above the first month with him, really the first 6 weeks has been anything but easy. The first month my baby blues were pretty bad, combine that with an always crying babe and sleep deprivation and it can give you a run for your money. BUT through all the adjustment and the hardness of it all, I still just love this sweet, tiny babe.

Things have definitely been getting easier. I knew something was up with Crew because when he ate he would cry with pain, he would arch his back and squirm. He always coughed and and always got hiccups after he ate. He always had horrible gas and night I would wake up and hear him gurgle and swallow, swallow, swallow. Then he would start crying as if it hurt. AT first we though it was just gas or maybe a food allergy. He didn't have a food allergy (thank goodness) but he was still crying all the time and I couldn't put him on his back more than 5-10 minutes at a time before he'd start crying. I did some research and took a quiz online on whether or not he had acid reflux. He scored a 90%. I took a couple more just to make sure and looked at all the symptoms. He had pretty much every one except for the projectile vomiting and stop breathing (so happy he doesn't do that). Anyway I called my doctor and poor crew has silent, acid reflux. It explained a lot. We got him on medicine 2 weeks ago and the last 4 days he has been quite a bit happier. I can even leave him on his back now. I still keep him upright after feedings for 20-30 minutes which also helps and he has to sleep on an incline. He wants to sleep on his stomach but I get so nervous about letting him. I will let him for naps though and he sleeps so good like that.

It has been so nice to actually have a happy babe most the time rather than one who doesn't feel good all the time. I call him my precious. He is definitely a more demanding baby than Emery was but we love him so much. And seriously, he has the cutest, sweetest smile I have ever seen. He first smiled when he was exactly 6 weeks at Em, and now he will smile when mommy talks to him and it melts my heart. We adore our little Crew. Even on the hard days. He still loves his swing, his tummy and being the baby bjorn. Most of all he loves being held by mommy and sleeping on her. He also loves his pacifier, hopefully he'll be able to hold those in better soon.

Until the 2 month post, that's our Crew man. He is already so much more filled out!
