To end our Summer...

So even though I live in Arizona where the heat of Summer lasts well into the beginning of October, as soon as September hits...I am all over Fall.  I love Fall time, and mid-September is right about the time I start missing Utah, so beautiful there. Of course, I do love my Arizona and am happy to say that when I went outside this evening it wasn't deathly hot. It was even cool enough to take a walk if you ask me :) That being said, we have had a fun time 'ending our summer' before gearing up for Holiday times and Em's first Birthday.

Some of the endings include...

My Aunt Kelly, Cousin Sydney and her beautiful baby girl Bentlee came down to visit and we are so glad they did. They're a party! We were brave and went to the zoo in the heat, too hot but still fun.

My Aunt Laurie also got to come!
I think she likes Grandma more than me
Emery points at everything now, and if she points at you...well, you better point back and touch her finger. It's like her own version of a fist bump.

Fail. She hated the splash pad and wouldn't let me put her down.

Remember those little changes I talked about in a post while back? Well this one has been a long time coming. I never liked the shelves above my couch when we first moved in and I FINALLY put my foot down, used my hard earned money(okay not that hard earned, I clean Court's office building once a week for some extra cash :) totally worth it) and got some shelves I have had my eye on for quite some time. So much better. Our family room feels complete now.  It's the little things right?

We headed to Norco, California to go see Grammy! It was a short trip, but fun and relaxing. I am so glad we made it up there for Labor Day weekend. Sadly, these are the only pictures Court and I took-Em before we headed off to church and Em with the chilly pad around her at the park. We're missin' Grammy even more around here now.

Swimming, swimming, swimming as much as we can until it gets too cold.

And of course Cook family BBQ's filled with good food, pool ball and Just Dance! Watching my parents dance was the funniest. And me and my sisters might have hogged the dancing sessions, it was a blast.
And last, but not least...my brother Trevor made it down from China for a visit. Yay! We have missed him and are so glad we have been able to spend time with him.

I'm hoping we can get in a cabin trip before my grandparents close it up for Winter, we'll see.
If we don't though, I am happy to report this Summer has still been a fun one, So bring on the Fall!

10 Months

Em's 10 Month post is coming to you when she is 10 1/2 Months, no surprise there. I will do better at my blogging, promise.

Here is my girl at 10 Months...How is this for cheesy???

I could eat her! I love that toothy smile.

Yeah...the 'lie-down to see how much I've grown' pictures...not sure that will be happening anymore. This was the best I could get. I swear this girl doesn't rest.
Having a mini tantrum. Yep, she has those now.
 Loves her dolly
 And playing with necklaces
The Bear crawl is always incorporated to her regular crawl now

Can't get enough of the stairs
Those big eyes, they make my heart melt.

Emery babe has really been keeping me and Daddy on our toes lately. I am in awe how much she picks up on. She really has started to notice babies, where before she could've cared less. When we were in California she would always crawl over to Oakley and want to touch her and look at her and annoy her  haha, poor Oaks. She will even give kisses to baby Ansley now, and kisses are hard to get from Em.

So needless to say, she really does love her dollies lately. The best is when she pats their back.

She loves necklaces and bracelets. I always give her old ones to play with and she puts them on and crawls around the house that way. If a necklace is not available she uses mom's green exercise band :)

Loves books still. A new book can hold her attention span for a good amount of time. She is so silly, always moving and finding new things and wants the most what she is not suppose to have. She loves mom's phone now too and will hold it up to her ear and have a little conversation.

 Still our swimmer girl
I am dying over the fact that she is going to be 1 next month! Time has flown! I know she is still a baby, but her little chubby baby body is getting stretched out to toddler baby and she is looking so much older to me. She will always be my baby though :)
We love our Em, she is definitely Mommy and Daddy's sunshine!

4 Years

Court and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on Saturday. I swear that time sped-up when I got married and that it has gotten even faster since we had Emery. I try so hard to always be very present in my everyday because I really feel like this time in my life is so special. I feel so blessed to have my Courty and my Em. How grateful I am for my happy, little life.

8.17.2013 at Red, White & Brew for lunch
We had fun celebrating by going out to lunch and then getting massages (It was heavenly) and just spending the day together.

Em's 9 month post

I am FINALLY putting up Em's 9 month post, a lot late since she will be 10 months in one week! And confession: her '9 month' pictures are really 9 1/2 month pictures. Ooops. I guess you could say that with Em's increased mobility there is a decrease in mom's ability to blog :)

Here is my beautiful, not as little, 9 month Emery...

 Emery at 9 Months:
- Our tall lady. At her 9 month Dr. appointment she was still 98th percentile in height and almost 30 inches. She has always been about 3 months ahead in her clothes size too!
-She is 19.7 pounds.
-She has 8 (yes, 8) teeth. Technically, at 9 months she had 7 1/2
-Says 'Mama' or 'Mom'
-Started crawling at almost 9 months
-Does not like to go down for naps, but thank goodness I can still get her to take 2
-She still nurses, but only about 4 times a day (is that a lot still?)
-Loves, loves, loves her books and being read too
-Loves playing on the couch and mom and dad's bed. She loves to fall backwards and roll and jump on them.
-I can rarely keep a bow on her head now
 -Loves patty-cake
-Just learning to high-five, I promise my hand looks like a normal hand in real life
-Wants everything she is not supposed to have and cries when you take it away
-Its hard to say no to those big, brown eyes though
-I love this picture. It's her little mischievous grin she has before she's off to explore.
-Was so happy when she figured out she could pull herself up onto her feet

 -Always on her tippy toes.

- Likes to craw into the smallest of spaces, and into boxes or baskets, and on mom and dad...and every where. There is not a space on my floor or the back door where you can't find smudged little hand prints...but I love them.

-Or booty prints. This little stink loves taking off her diapers! I always have to make sure there is a onsie on her now. She hates being dressed, and hates having a diaper on. She has turned into such a wiggle worm. I think changing her diaper should be an event in the olympics.
-Still loves swimming and bath time. This is her friend Owen :)
-LOVES mom's smoothies. I really think she would drink the entire glass if I let her.

Some things about Em that mom and dad are loving:
-Her personality. I love her growing personality, it's so cute. She is kind of quirky, and I love it. She is usually more quiet when there are a lot of people around and will study her surroundings first before just being her normal self. But she is so quick to smile. Every one who stops to look at her loves her because she gives them a big cheesy smile. I love it.
-If we are sitting or lying on the floor she will sometimes stop what she's doing and come lay her head on you and cuddle, just for a minute though before she is off again.
-Getting her big slobbery and toothy kisses
-Her big brown eyes and all her teeth. I think her teeth are the cutest! Court always calls her Shark tooth now
-Hearing her say 'mama' and reading books with her
-Because she makes us the happiest
I say this every month post, but it's because I am truly in awe of how much my little babe has changed. She is growing up so fast. I told Court the other day that sometimes I am really sad she can crawl because I miss taking naps with her, he said he missed that too. I am loving watching her learn and figure out new things. I have loved this age. It is so fun, but there are more than a few times I find myself longing to have her really tiny again. I love my little Em.
