6 Months

6 Months?! We are at half a year people! My little Em is not so little anymore. She is getting so smart, and I am loving her cute personality. Happy 6 months little love!

Let's do a time line, yes?

 1 Month
 2 Months
 3 Months

 4 Months
 5 Months
 And..6 whole Months :)
We are loving every minute with our Emery girl, and I am wishing time would slow down a teensy bit. Emery has such a sweet personality and it is getting more and more fun to play with her. There have been a lot more noticeable changes this month. Which include:

-Sitting up like a champ, rarely falls backwards and never falls forward, She has been putting her hands out in front of her now and leaning to get toys and stuff...hopefully getting ready to crawl soon???
Waves "Hi" this was the closest pic I could get of her waving. It is the cutest.

-Getting more mobile. Downward Dog, yoga anyone?
-Being more precious, if that's possible
-Loves to move! She would rock back and forth on the couch all day long if she could

- Everything goes straight to her mouth now.

-She has a little tooth
-She weighs 18 pounds
-She loves being loud and laughing
-She is good at eating (apples are her favorite so far, I think)
-she loves to look at peoples hands and feet and tries imitating what you do with them. She has been trying to clap her hands and did it a little bit yesterday

We love our girl. She is so full of life and you can just see her observing everything you do. It is quite amazing to watch these little peanuts grow up. I can't get enough of her. I am so grateful Emmy is a healthy girl. We don't know what we'd do without her. Okay....one more picture since I hardly have any on this post. Ha!

Hi cute girl!

It's Good

I've been feeling extra grateful for my little family lately. I think because of all the sad things that have happened the last couple weeks-the bombing at the Boston Marathon, and the plant blowing up in Texas. My heart goes out to all those who were affected. I remember watching the news about the bombing and crying while I hugged Emmy. I was sad this happened in our country, sad for the people who had to live through that, sad for what kind of world we live in and if it was going to get worse as my girl grew up in it. It got me a little down, but then I watched the coverage that showed so many people run to help others, and I was reminded that even when tragedy strikes, now and throughout history, we always overcome and become stronger because of it.

Something else came to mind as I watched and read about all this too, and this little phrase (I found it off an old friend's facebook status a few months ago) has stuck with me, especially when I start thinking and worrying about 'what is this world coming to?' type of stuff. I just remember, 'People are inherently good.' It's true. When you get down to it and talk to someone you think is so different from you, they really are not. Most of us just want to be good, want the best for our families, want to be loved, etc. We are all very much the same, and I am so grateful for that. The world may not always  have the best things or best people in it, but it is still full of so much good. So I'm choosing to focus on that, and will try to help it stay good in any way I can.

Plus, I want it to stay beautiful for her.

Showers Saturday and Cousin Time

Court and I had a good, busy weekend, which are the best kind if you ask me.

On Friday Court, Shaun and Cruzer, and Devan took off to go camping. They said it was a 'test run' to make sure we would all be ready to go :) They had a good time.

Since Court was gone on Friday I decided to get a head start on the cupcakes I was making for Faith's baby shower the next day. (Me and Faith both decided next time the boys are gone we're going to dinner and doing something else fun..maybe get nails done?) I decided to head over to my parents house so me and Em would have a little company. Kristen stayed and helped with the cupcakes until she went out so that was fun.

 MMM..love those chunky legs!
Emmy has been chomping on her hand A LOT, for good reason too...guess what popped through on this Friday night? A little bottom tooth. She is getting so big!

Showers Saturday (As in a baby shower and a bridal shower)

I ended up staying the night at my parents which worked out nicely because I got to do some shopping in Kristen's closet :) I had to make frosting in the morning and then me, Em and my sisters headed over to Faith's baby Shower.

We had so much fun, and the shower was so cute! It made me so excited for baby Oakley to get here! I am so mad I didn't get a picture! Just pretend that under this one there is a picture of my beautiful sister-in-law Faith with her cute, little pregnant belly surrounded by all things pink :)

Me and Lindsay left the shower a little early and headed over to the bridal shower for one of my best friends from High School, Angela. It was so fun to see her and her sweet family, and other good friends  I haven't seen for awhile.

It was so good to see my friend Brenda! She is having her second baby girl in July and is such a good mom! She was so cute with Emery while we were there.
So happy for Angela. She has always been such an amazing friend and someone I have always very much admired. She is going to be a beautiful bride!

The showers were so fun, but we were ready to get home and see Daddy.

Cousin Time!

Our weekend was also extra fun because Carol and Tyler were visiting from Chicago. Visiting because they need to find somewhere to live when they move down in a month :) We are so excited for them to be here. Arizona is where it's at people!

This is the only picture I got. At least I got one right?
We can't wait for Carol and Tyler and their cute little boys to be here!

And I just took these on Sunday because I love Emery with her Daddy, and Daddy loves his Emmy. If you can't tell by Court's face...our church time is early in the morning haha

Easter

This Easter was so much fun! We had the Cook family Easter picnic on Saturday and had such a wonderful time! I don't know the last time I actually got to go to the picnic because I used to always have to work Saturdays, so I was very excited. We had beautiful weather, I got to dress Emery all bright like a little Easter egg and it was so fun to be surrounded by good food and good family :) Here are some pictures from our festive-filled day.

Oh she makes me so happy!
So happy Garffs got to come!
 Some of the crowd
 My sisters.

This was the best we got
 LOVE this picture

Easter Sunday

I love Easter Sunday. There are Easter baskets in the morning and then Church, which always has beautiful musical numbers and talks about our Savior and remind me just what this Holiday is about. And I'm not going to lie that I love to see all the little girls walk in all happy in their beautiful little Easter dresses. Including this one....

Anyway, we had a good Easter dinner after church at the padres and had fun playing games and just being all together.

Court's Easter Bowl because I couldn't find his basket for the life of me
And Emmy's :) She got a sand bucket and sand toys (for Mexico in May) 2 books, her dress (Thank you Grandma!), and a little dolly that is not in the basket for some reason.

Happy Easter!

And uno mas, guess who finally took down their fall wreath??? Me! (I know, pathetic right???)  Anyway, I had been wanting to make a bright and springy wreath and saw one on pinterest that had a big floppy, cloth bow and fell in love. I needed a cloth bow on mine no matter what. So I got some new stuff, and used some old stuff and Ta-dah...

And don't worry, I took off the leaves. They ended up looking too dark and not "Springy" enough I thought.

Now it is hanging outside our door and hopefully making our home look happy and welcoming :)
