Our Independence Day

Happy 4th of July!

 Oh, yes we did...
 ....or tried
Having a baby makes Holidays 50 times more fun! Loved Em and Ansley's 4th of July dresses.

 **********
We randomly decided to head up to the Cook Cabin the night before the 4th, and I am so glad we did. Only my grandparents and parents were able to make it up this year, but it was still such a fun and relaxing trip. I loved being able to spend so much uninterrupted time with just my little family-Court and Em. Here is a little bit of what we did.

Every time someone rode by on their four-wheeler Em would stare at them like a hawk.
This was Em's favorite chair, Warning: it will make you fall asleep every time you swing in it.
 Before the fireworks started
 She loved them!

Grandpa always brought Em back cool rocks he found on his morning hike. She LOVED them. She played with those things more than the toys. Now they are in the 'Grand kids Rock Garden' in the front yard of our cabin.
She loved all the attention from Grandma and Grandpa!
 Swinging with Great Grandpa
 Relaxin'
Court's project my Grandma asked him to do for one of the cabin bathrooms.
 Em and Grandpa.
Family quad ride. Yes, Em loved it.
Almost as much as she loved this.

The 2 cutest messy faces there ever were. (Don't worry, Court doesn't eat like a ravenous beast every meal. We had ribs that night so he didn't hold back haha)
 Her favorite chair
 Wanting this delicious dinner again

Hope every one had a wonderful 4th! I am so grateful for my Country and the freedoms I enjoy. How blessed my little family is!

8 Months

8 Months (on June 26th, but I am late with a post, as usual).  Do you know how much a little babe changes and learns by 8 months! Well Miss Em is going to show you, if I can ever get her to sit still long enough :)

Hi Best Girl

Our little Monthly photo shoot is getting much more difficult with this squirming, wiggling girl.

*Notice her 2 new top teeth??? Don't even worry, she has one on each side of those coming in too. She is the cutest with these little teeth, but has been a little more trying for me because of it, They haven't been making her feel too good, poor girl

 Emery love is...
*Still tall, everyone thinks she is older than she is because of it...and because of all her new teeth too :)

 * Moving, moving, moving all over the place. She doesn't "crawl", though she is close to a real crawl, like any day now. She mostly scoots and slithers and reaches for days. Somehow she can get everywhere. She was having a blast playing in the white sheet if you cant tell :)

*Talking even more gibberish lately. I have heard a couple 'Lalalas' and she said 'Da' at the cabin a few times so I am hoping to get a 'Dada' soon.

*Get's so excited to see people now. She'll wave her little arms and feet like crazy when she sees Daddy and grandma and grandpa

Emery's favorites are...
*Her new chair (this is her Birthday present from Grandma, who gave it to me early to store...I tried to keep it away, but c'mon...could I really save that for 4 more months?!)
Like I said, loves it! And watching her get out of it is the funniest!
*She loves to be read to too, especially if you hold up two books so she can choose which one-it is the cutest.
*Clapping her hands. She does it all the time, especially if she is excited or if you sing 'patty-cake'.
*Biting everything because her teeth are hurting her, poor thing.
*Her pink doggy and sucking her thumb
*Swimming. LOVES it. I really think she is happiest in the water.
*Getting into everything!!! And she hasn't even mastered crawling yet! Heaven help me.
*Eating, she loves trying new food. Some of her favorites are...
-Banana puffs
-Avocados
-Pita chips
-Graham crackers
-Sweet potatoes

*And wouldn't you know it...unvelcro-ing her diapers. Little stink.

And somehow, mom and dad are loving all of this too :) She is our very best!
